Liferiders – Cycling for Mental Wellbeing Project in Harrogate
Liferiders was created to harness the power of riding bikes together to build healthy bodies and healthy minds. Why cycling ? Well there's more to it than simply turning the pedals. Cycling is about the support and encouragement of others, it's about overcoming physical challenges together, it's about adventure, a shared sense of pride and a strong sense of belonging. Break free from stress, anxiety or depression for a couple of hours a week and see where it takes you. Join LiferidersCBAD for a steady weekly ride - fresh air - fresh perspective - take your mind off things - a sense of achievement - make a difference by supporting others.
Everyone is welcome, and especially aimed at those with stress, anxiety & depression who know how to ride a bike, but aren't regular cyclists. It's free to join. It can also connect people with low-cost bikes and kit to get them started, and even meet up with people to ease any fears and help them get started. There are 2 bike rides. One is for beginners (3 miles) once-a-month on a Sunday afternoon 1.30pm, and the other is every Wednesday evening 6.30pm (c.12 miles). Check website for details and registration.”
